Key Featrues
Low IF (200kHz Nominal): The receiver operates with a low intermediate frequency (IF) of 200kHz, which reduces complexity in the design and improves filtering efficiency. This results in better signal clarity and lower noise, enhancing overall performance in low-power applications.
5.5mA DC Current: With a low DC current consumption of 5.5mA during operation, the MAX7036 is highly energy-efficient, making it ideal for battery-powered devices like garage door openers and remote keyless entry (RKE) systems. This feature extends battery life and reduces maintenance costs.
1µA Standby Current: The receiver has an ultra-low standby current of 1µA, significantly reducing power consumption when the device is idle. This feature is particularly beneficial for applications requiring long-term operation with minimal energy usage, such as sensor networks and security systems.
3.3V/5V Operation: The MAX7036 supports dual voltage operation (3.3V and 5V), providing flexibility in system design and compatibility with a wide range of power supplies. This versatility simplifies integration into various electronic systems and broadens its application scope.
Applications
Security System Receiver: The MAX7036 is well-suited for security systems, where it can receive signals from wireless sensors and alarms. Its high sensitivity (-109dBm) and low IF (200kHz) ensure reliable detection of weak signals, making it ideal for monitoring and intrusion detection in residential and commercial security applications.
Sensor Network Receiver: The MAX7036 is perfect for wireless sensor networks, where it can receive data from distributed sensors in industrial or environmental monitoring systems. Its low power consumption (5.5mA active, 1µA standby) and small form factor make it ideal for energy-efficient and compact designs in IoT and smart city applications.
Low-Cost RKE Receiver: The MAX7036 is an excellent choice for low-cost remote keyless entry (RKE) systems. Its integrated PLL, VCO, and mixer simplify design, while its 3.3V/5V operation and small 20-pin QFN package make it cost-effective and space-efficient for automotive and consumer RKE applications.
