With its crystal controlled oscillator, divide-by-three counter, and comprehensive "Ready" synchronization and reset logic, this chip offers high performance and reliability. Operating with an external frequency source ranging from DC to 25MHz, the 82C84A/B ensures crystal controlled operation up to 25MHz by using a parallel, fundamental mode crystal and two small load capacitors
