MAX5992A/MAX5992B PD controllers are designed to offer complete interface control for PDs in PoE systems, ensuring compliance with the IEEE 802.3af/at standard. These high-power controllers feature detection and classification signatures, an isolation MOSFET driver with current-limit control, and intelligent MPS and active FET bridge control for improved power efficiency. With the active-low SIG_OK output signal and selectable inrush-current modes, these devices are well-suited for high-power Multi-2P PD applications and redundancy applications in FTTH/FTTB operations. The input UVLO, wide hysteresis, and long deglitch time provide glitch-free transition during power-on/power-off conditions, compensating for twisted-pair cable resistive drop. With the ability to operate from a 20.8V low-voltage supply, selectable UVLO, and withstand up to 100V at the input, the MAX5992A/MAX5992B PD controllers offer a robust solution for PoE applications, ensuring reliable and compliant operation for a variety of PDs
